Best wishes to everyone from AzAHPERD. Hopefully, 2012 will find everyone in great health and raring to start a new year. This should be an exciting and historic year for AzAHPERD. Historic as AzAHPERD will implement monumental changes which will include a name change. Exciting for all the new opportunities a New Year brings. AzAHPERD will be hosting their Adapted (APE) conference on February 2nd and 3rd in Mesa. We are rewriting our strategic plan to include a "Best Practice" component in response to the assessment plan for our school districts. We are also anticipating more advocacy workshops to occur during the year.
I found the above quote when I was asked to write something for our website. It made me think of Dr. Jo who was so inspiring during our last convention. She challenged us when she asked how committed we were. Were we as committed in the breakfast meal as the chicken contributing the eggs or as the pig contributing the bacon? Do you remember she asked us to be the bacon? We made plans to meet our representatives with some parents. If it has become hard to meet with your representatives then start a letter campaign at your school.

The first week of January I have my first appointment to start my vision of finding funding in the business community for ten schools to be completely equipped with Heart Rate Monitors and itstechnology. Wish me luck on this "Opportunity" as I wish you luck on your "Opportunity" and may we all have a wonderful book with a happy ending at the end of the year!
